The roar of Kotigobba echoed across Bengaluru as the iconic Kannada film, starring late actor
Vishnuvardhan and Priyanka Upendra, returned to theatres after 25 years.
The re-release opened to houseful shows, with multiple screenings sold out on day one. Videos of euphoric audiences singing along and celebrating have since flooded social media. Amid the fanfare, Priyanka joined audiences for a special screening — her first time watching the film in theatres. “I wasn’t in Bengaluru during the original release, so experiencing it now, with so much love from the audience, felt very special,” she told Bangalore Times.

“People knew every dialogue, every song. It proves that good films stay forever,” she said, adding that many viewers were reliving memories while also introducing the film to a younger generation. She also noted the strong turnout of women and families. “You don’t always see such a diverse crowd, and that made it even more beautiful,” she added.
